As Tiger Woods gears up for his much-anticipated return to the PGA Tour, the golf icon spent time on the course with former President Donald Trump in South Florida.
Woods and Trump teed off Sunday morning at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, as confirmed by multiple reports from the White House. The outing takes place just days before Woods is set to compete at Torrey Pines, marking his first official PGA Tour event since The Open.

Later in the evening, Trump is expected to attend the Super Bowl in New Orleans, adding another major event to his busy schedule.
Meanwhile, Woods, who has won eight career titles at Torrey Pines, including his legendary 2008 U.S. Open victory, will head to San Diego for next week’s Genesis Invitational. Originally scheduled at Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, the tournament was relocated to Torrey’s South Course due to the recent Palisades fire. Woods has not finished a full 72-hole tournament since last April’s Masters.

The golf legend’s name has recently come up in discussions about the ongoing negotiations between the PGA Tour and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. Last week, Trump met with PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan and player director Adam Scott in Washington, D.C., to talk about the future of professional golf. Although the Tour’s official statement didn’t mention Woods’ presence, flight-tracking data showed his private jet landed at Dulles Airport Monday night before leaving for Florida early the following morning.
A PGA Tour statement later expressed gratitude for Trump’s role in advancing the negotiations toward resolution. “We appreciate [Trump’s] leadership, which has brought us closer to a final agreement, clearing the path for the reunification of men’s professional golf,” the statement said.

Amid his busy schedule, Woods also shared heartbreaking news. On Tuesday, he revealed the passing of his mother, Kultida Woods, at 80. “My mom was a force of nature; her spirit was undeniable,” Woods said in a heartfelt statement. “She had a quick wit and a great laugh. She was my biggest fan and greatest supporter—without her, none of my personal achievements would have been possible.”
Trump, a longtime friend of Woods, extended his condolences on social media.

“I was just informed that Tiger Woods’ wonderful mother, Kultida, has passed away—she has moved on to greener fairways!” Trump wrote. “Kultida Woods was a tremendous influence on Tiger, giving him much of his strength and brilliance.
Melania and I send our love and prayers to Tiger and his remarkable family!” Trump and Woods share a well-known friendship, having played golf together several times. In 2019, Trump honored Woods with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, recognizing his extraordinary contributions to the sport.
